A Revolution In Waste & Energy
Onsite, high efficiency Waste to Energy. Watogy can convert almost any waste into usable energy.
The issue of waste management is inherently local. Waste is generated locally and should be managed locally. Whatever solutions are implemented to resolve waste management issues will need to be local solutions. The closer these solutions are to where the waste is generated, the better it is for the economy and the environment.
What Kind of Waste Will Watogy Process?
Medical Waste
Every time you make a trip to the hospital, you create medical waste. Even if you do not get a shot or have blood drawn, the tongue depressor and other items that come in contact with your body’s fluids can be considered biohazardous. This waste must be processed in a safe controlled environment. In light of recent pandemics like H1N1 (swine flu), SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome), and the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), proper disposal is more important than ever.
Food Waste
The United States is the global leader in food waste, with Americans discarding nearly 40 million tons of food per year. That’s 80 billion pounds of food, approximately 219 pounds of waste per person and 30-40 percent of the US food supply, worth more than $161 billion. Most of this food is sent to landfills. While responsible food waste management includes getting edible food to those in need and composting, the volume is more than can be handled by those ways alone.
Plastic Waste
More than half the plastic now on Earth has been created since 2002, and only 9% of that plastic has been recycled. China used to take the majority of American plastic until 2017, but much of it wasn’t actually recycled when it got there. Now that China isn’t taking the world’s plastic, it’s piling up at recycling facilities, going straight to landfills, and going to poor countries that also don’t have the means to recycle those plastics. That waste ends up being dumped in the ocean or rural areas.
Construction Waste
The volume of construction waste generated worldwide every year will nearly double to 2.2. billion tons by the year 2025. Every government nationally struggles with how to handle the waste created by natural disasters like hurricanes, tornadoes and floods. Dealing with construction waste is one of the most daunting challenges facing the construction industry. Disposal costs are high, resources are being needlessly wasted, and we are running out of landfill space.
Agricultural Waste
In the past, farming, one of the most important components of our communities, has always managed to achieve a balance between the production of animal wastes and the demand for such wastes as manure for arable cultivation. Industrial farming can upset the balance by overproduction of animal waste. Agricultural waste can have significant disastrous effects on community water supply and soil. Agricultural pollution is the main source of pollution in much of our water ways.
MSW
The state of waste management in America and around the globe is truly in crisis. The average American disposes 4.4 pounds to 7 pounds of municipal solid waste (MSW) every single day. Over 987,000 tons of garbage is generated, which is enough to fill over 75,000 garbage trucks every day. Most MSW produced in the US goes into landfills. As this material decomposes, it releases methane gas which is a harmful greenhouse gas, additionally, many landfills are almost full.
Almost Any Waste Can Be Processed With Watogy
Watogy Converts Waste Into Usable Energy
Space Heating & Cooling
Heating and cooling systems can account for approximately 40% of all energy consumed in a commercial space. With almost half of a business utility bill eaten up in HVAC charges, Watogy can drastically cut energy costs for many businesses.
Hot Water
Hot water is critical to many commercial businesses. Everything from food service to waste management to manufacturing depends on hot water. Watogy simply and efficiently provides hot water for any commercial or industrial application.
Electricity
While displacing electricity is often more efficient, Watogy can contribute to net metering, microgrids and electrical back up systems. that keep business running. Power outages are on the rise and cost an average of about $150 billion per year.
Chilling & Freezing
Conventional compressor chillers and coolers are the largest cost on many commercial utility bills. The primary advantage of absorption chillers is higher efficiency. Watogy powers heat absorption chillers that can significantly lower energy costs.
Process Steam
Steam is an important part of commercial and industrial businesses. Steam is an efficient and effective energy medium which is widely used in industry worldwide to produce everything from food to chemicals to paper and building materials.
Atmospheric Water Harvesting
More than a billion people live without enough safe, clean water and nearly 1 million people die each year from water, sanitation and hygiene-related diseases which could be reduced with access to safe water or sanitation.
